I remember when this film came out I kept hearing ‘Best action film in years’; I even heard a ‘Best Action Movie Ever’ from a few respected peers. I can’t give it that title.
But The Raid: Redemption IS one hell of a flick. Definitely on the short list of films that give me (and I imagine a lot of other guys) flashbacks to our Bruce Lee/wannabe kung fu fighter days. The fight scenes in this film are incredible! I jumped out of my chair during at least three different times. CGI will never be a match for top notch, outstanding fight choreography.
As a subtitled film, this flick also passes the ‘action flicks succeed because you can understand them on mute’ theory. The little guy who refuses to use guns…that’s all I’m going to say, but if you’ve seen the film, you’re nodding and laughing hysterically right now.
One more post tomorrow leading into the weekend…
