Something of an update…

Life has slowed down and is in something of a groove as summer starts to get into full swing.  I’ve been doing a lot of reading and researching about mythologies, in a general way and in a ‘movie’ way.  It’s really stunning (but very cool) how many ‘stories’ keep repeating themselves across cultures, and religions, and civilizations.  It’s true what they say I guess in that there’s only a handful of stories, and the details of these stories are where the ‘originality’ lies.  Anyway, there’s a story I’ve tried to wrap my head around for my entire adult life, and it’s nowhere near ‘together’ yet, but I have some ideas about how to frame it that may move me to actually write something down now.  We’ll see.

I just got off the phone with my father, and he was telling me how he didn’t think the NBA was fixed anymore because of how bad Boston beat Orlando last night.  There’s a million jokes I could make off of that, but it all (looks like) it’s leading us to another Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals.  It didn’t disappoint two years ago, I don’t see how it will disappoint this year.  Objectively I don’t see how either team could sweep the other; as bland as some of these series’ have been, we should at least end the NBA year on a high note. 

Two of the trademarks of this particular blog, the ‘I Love L.A.’ posts, and the movie reviews have been slacking as of late.  All I can say is ‘My Bad’, there’s been a lot going on in my life.  I am like a flower though and the sun rays motivate me to go out and experience the city.  So expect more of what you’re used to in the next 90 days, maybe a few surprises even.
