Like most of the kids I grew up with, I remember thinking this was a nice ballad on the radio, then I saw this video and had the ‘Wait a minute…are they implying…oh God…OH GOD!!!!’
And I’m not trying to make light of the very real ‘unspoken’ abuse issues that happen more than anyone would want to imagine. I AM saying the last place I expected the topic to come from was a Dru Hill music video.

Why she gotta wind up with the creeper, though? I mean, I know he’s super excited because he finally got to lead a song, and Sisqo didn’t make him stand in the nose bleed section anymore . . . . but, he has that “my medication ain’t quite right” intensity to him that makes you think she’s gonna wind up in a hole in his basement saying, “It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose, again.” Can’t a sista just take some time to re-coup? Maybe re-think somethings?
